The Fifth Night

And we're OUT!
So. I made it alone! - the crying lasted 40 minutes, which was 5 less than the fourth night! I did find this time that about half the times when the timer went off and I booked it down the hallway to go comfort him, he would be quiet, so I would hesitate at the door for a moment until I heard him and sometimes when I went in, he would cry harder.

I felt almost like I was making it worse? But it had been five minutes!! I needed my one minute not only to comfort him but to comfort myself! *sigh* I can't imagine a day when putting him to bed is going to be enjoyable. He is still humming at the end and rubbing his face into each of his wub a nubs, one after the other, back and forth from side to side. I've never seen anything like it!

What is everyone doing about a light? Do you leave a small light on for your baby? We were leaving his turtle on, that lights up the ceiling with stars, but when he's crying, he grabs at anything in his reach an ended up with the turtle over his face, so we had to take it out and his crib has a tent on it to keep the cat out and I've draped blankets over the top to block the morning light, so I can't put the turtle on outside the crib either. Suggestions anyone?

  1. YAY! Glad to hear that you did it by yourself...I knew you could :)

We don't use any lights in Logan's room. His curtains are closed, so its very dark in there, and the door is closed too. We do turn the sea horse on when we put him down and but it only stays on for 5 minutes. Can you leave the door cracked with light on in the hallway?
