The Twenty-Third Night

Brand new, holding my sister's hand.
So. The Twenty-Third Night STUNK.
We took a walk last night, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and Collin slept the whole trip. When we got home, I was willing to let him stay up a little longer as it seemed to me that he had just had an hours nap but he was yawing and rubbing his eyes, so I proceeded to the bedtime routine (not the new one).

Everything went well until I put him in his crib, then all hell broke loose! He cried for an hour and ten minutes. :(   *sigh*

I am not sure if it was because of the nap, or the lateness of the bedtime or maybe a combination of both plus the fact that he was tired. We did do 10 minute intervals but they seemed so very long, that I think we will go back to the seven minutes that we were doing.

Since he didn't actually fall asleep until 9:20pm, I did expect him to get up a little later this morning. That did NOT happen. He usually gets up between 6 and 6:30 but today he was up at 5:30! YUCK!

So today I am going to take the Doctor's suggestions and feed him solids 3 times, putting him down for a nap after each. I am also planning on starting the new routine (see The Twenty-Second Night) I'm quite worried and really just want to nurse last but know that is not what is best for him. I know that if I continue to do that, we will eventually run into an issue when we wean AND I am pretty sure his naps are so difficult to get him to take because I am not nursing him to sleep at naps like I am at night.

Wish us luck!
